EconoMe — Terms of Service
Please read these Terms carefully before using the EconoMe mobile application.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the EconoMe mobile application (the “App”) and related services provided by EconoMe Inc. (“EconoMe”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By creating an account or using EconoMe, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Overview
EconoMe is a personal budgeting and financial tracking application designed to help individuals understand and manage their spending.
The service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.
2. Eligibility
To use EconoMe, you must:
- Reside in a region where EconoMe is available;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; and
- If you are under the age of majority in your province, state, or region, use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
3. Account Registration
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information;
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential; and
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Linking Financial Accounts
EconoMe uses Plaid to securely connect to your financial institutions. By linking an account, you authorize Plaid to:
- Access your financial institution on your behalf;
- Retrieve account and transaction information; and
- Transmit that information to us securely for use within the App.
EconoMe does not collect or store your bank login credentials, such as usernames, passwords, or multi-factor authentication codes.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- Use the App for any commercial, illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity;
- Interfere with or attempt to bypass security or access controls;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the App’s source code; or
- Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access the App, except as permitted by us in writing.
6. Subscription & Payments
Some features of EconoMe require a paid subscription.
- Payments are processed through the Apple App Store;
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel;
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings; and
- Refunds are handled solely by Apple in accordance with its policies.
We may update pricing in the future. Any pricing changes will be displayed in the App Store and will not take effect until the next billing cycle, subject to Apple’s approval process.
7. Privacy
Your use of EconoMe is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Data Accuracy & Third-Party Services
Financial data displayed in EconoMe is retrieved from Plaid and your connected financial institutions. While we strive to present accurate and timely information, we do not control the accuracy or availability of data from these third parties.
EconoMe is not responsible for:
- Delays in data updates;
- Service outages or interruptions; or
- Incorrect or incomplete data supplied by financial institutions or Plaid.
9. Security
We use modern security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit and at rest (where applicable);
- Secure token handling for connected accounts; and
- Strict internal access controls.
However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You use the App at your own risk.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time, either within the App (where available) or by contacting us using the information below.
We may suspend or terminate your access to EconoMe if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behavior.
11. Intellectual Property
All branding, design, software, and content within EconoMe are the intellectual property of EconoMe Inc. or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on any part of the App except as expressly permitted by us in writing.
12. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that EconoMe will be available at all times or free from errors.
Maintenance, updates, or technical issues may result in temporary outages or reduced performance.
13. Disclaimer
EconoMe provides budgeting and financial tracking tools for informational purposes only.
EconoMe does not provide:
- Personalized financial advice;
- Investment advice; or
- Legal or tax advice.
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EconoMe and its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for:
- Indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages;
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities; or
- Loss of data or corruption of data.
If we are found to be liable in connection with the App, our cumulative liability will be limited to the amount you have paid for EconoMe in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice within the App or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of EconoMe after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
